The Corporate Sustainability

The Corporate Sustainability

After much anticipation, the EU member states have finally endorsed the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). However, the compromise reached significantly narrows its scope. Originally intended to cover more companies, it now applies only to those with a turnover exceeding €450 million and 1000 employees, thus limiting its impact to around 5,300 companies. This change could leave many workers in high-risk sectors unprotected. Despite these limitations, the directive marks a step forward in promoting responsible business practices and human rights. Let’s remain hopeful that future revisions will broaden its reach, making a more substantial impact.
